Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of JustTrades.us and its features (the "platform"), operated by JustTrades.us ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

1. The service

JustTrades.us is a paper-trading platform for education and entertainment. All trading is simulated; no real money, securities, or brokerage accounts are involved. Please also read our Disclaimer, which is part of these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the platform. By using it, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Your account

You agree to provide accurate registration information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. One person may not operate accounts to abuse, distort, or manipulate challenges, leaderboards, or other features.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Harass, abuse, impersonate, or spam other users, including through friend requests or challenge invitations.
• Attempt to bypass platform limits, rate limits, blocks, or security controls, or access data that is not yours.
• Scrape, copy, redistribute, or resell platform data or market data, or use the platform to build a competing dataset.
• Introduce malware, attempt to disrupt the platform, or access it through automated means except as we expressly permit.
• Submit usernames, challenge names, or other content that is offensive, infringing, deceptive, or unlawful.

5. User content

You retain ownership of the content you submit (such as usernames and challenge names) but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host and display it as needed to operate the platform. You are responsible for your content and must have the rights to submit it.

6. Challenges and social features

Challenges, leaderboards, friends, and invitations are provided for entertainment and may change or be removed at any time. Rankings are based on simulated performance. We may apply limits (such as caps on active challenges, invitation rules, and cooldowns) to protect users from spam and abuse.

7. Market data

Market data is delayed, provided by third parties, and offered without warranty. It is licensed to you only for personal, non-commercial use within the platform. You may not redistribute it or rely on it for real trading decisions.

8. Disclaimers

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Nothing on the platform is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JustTrades.us and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the platform, including any decisions you make in real markets. Because the platform is provided free of charge and involves no real money, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us (if any) or USD $50.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law — for example, liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, you also keep any mandatory legal rights that apply in your country, and nothing here affects them.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JustTrades.us and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of the platform, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the platform at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or to protect the platform or other users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

12. Changes

We may modify the platform or these Terms at any time. When we change the Terms, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located there, unless applicable law requires otherwise. If you are a consumer resident in the EEA or the UK, this choice of law and forum does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence, and you may also be able to bring proceedings in your local courts.

14. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with the Disclaimer and Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the platform and supersede any prior agreements.
